ABOUT URBAN LEAGUE OF KANSAS
Since 1954, Urban League of Kansas, Inc. (ULK) has been a cornerstone in Wichita, enhancing housing, education, healthcare, employment, and opportunities for individuals and families. ULK is a local affiliate of the National Urban League, which spearheads the efforts of its affiliates across the country through the development of programs, public policy research, and advocacy.
Founded in 1910 and headquartered in New York City, the National Urban League has affiliates in 90 markets across 36 states and the District of Columbia, providing direct services that impact and improve the lives of more than two million people nationwide. ULK’s mission is to facilitate economic self-reliance and an improved quality of life through education, empowerment, and self-respect.
ULK serves as a community hub to connect residents to community resources, provide education for personal advancement, and create opportunities to empower people. We provide a trusted space to link community needs to community resources. We provide connections to employment services, educational opportunities, housing, and healthcare through a wide range of community partnerships. We provide opportunities to ensure resources, representation, and advancement of the urban community. We work with private companies, the public sector, other nonprofits, and community members to provide services for our customers.
